We enjoyed our much-too-short stay at the Magnolia Oaks Bed and Breakfast. If you like antiques, large trees and natural surroundings, and good old-fashioned comfort and hospitality, then this is the place for you. It is a trip back in time in the quaint small town of Columbus, Texas with lots of history and interesting sites. Peace and quiet away from the big cities!

I have no idea why there aren't more reviews for this place. My boyfriend and I stayed here during the MS150. The decor is really fun, and Bob is a wonderful host! Corey had to be at the race stop at 645am, and Bob made sure we had breakfast before we left. The only thing that prevents a full five stars is that there was a huge bug in the bathtub when we arrived, but that's to be expected given all the greenery around the place. I would stay here again!

We stayed in the little red schoolhouse and it was charming. The breakfast was fabulous and delivered to us hot. It's two blocks from downtown, which is charming. However, better hope there's no fire while you are staying there as the B&B is right next to the firehouse! Cons: when I went to get in the bed upstairs there was a pair of women's underwear in the bed (obviously used!). I'm assuming the sheets were not changed after the last guest. Yuck! Also, the heating system is way off: the front of the house was roasting and the back was freezing!
