Spent 2 nights at Ntendele when on a work trip to Lichinga and will be back soon! 1. Amazing snorkeling right at the lodge's beach; colourful fish everywhere, also otters, eagles, baboons.... 2. William a french pastery-chef and his wife Edna prepare creative super myummy food with local ingredients (homemade bread, jams, catfish kebabs...); one feels they love to make one's stay unforgettable 3. Lovely rooms n chalets, clean, well organised; very good value for money 4. Sunset downers on boattrip or secluded beaches among the ancient baobabs, and drinks at the fireplace on the beach 5. Transport from Lichinga 90min (expensive, call lodge for more info), then lovely 30min boat ride Enjoy your trip! Andreas
We went to n'tendele with three friends for weekend trip. Nice to see at the airport that the driver of a nice 4x4 was waiting for us to take us down the lake. There a wooden boat was taking us on a cruise to the lodge, we saw some fish eagles, Rock dassie, monitor Lizard and full of other colourfull birds. We get dropped at the lodge on golden sand beach surrounded by woods land. We slept in double rooms simple and cosy. The snorkelling was hightlight so much cyclids around the rocks in shallow waters and visibility was really great. Food was very tasty, made of organic site production and local supply (the fish are a must to try). Fantastic sunset and stars viewing at the night bone fire. Will definitely come again for some more exploration.
We spent 8 days in the lodge over New Years. Relaxing days and great party at night. We tried fishing 🐠, snorkelling, some sunbathing 👙. We enjoyed the cooking of the local chef 👨🍳 taking care of local products and home grown organic foods. Dinner under the stars ⭐️ so romantic.
Hi everyone, we had a wondetful time there. We were looking for a place to relax and found the perfect fit. The boat ride to the lodge was already a safari on itself (hippos, fish eagles, crocs...). The lodge was simple but welcoming and the food eas great. We could not believe how much fish diversity can exist in a lake.... blue, white, yellow fishes everywhere. The best was to personally witness 'the burning waters' phenomenon... you can understand in the BBC Planet Earth documentary (LAKES episode). Anyway... great place, fantastic experience, we recommend to everyine looking for unique wilderness experience.
It's unbelievable that no one said once you arrived at Lichinga Airport you have to take a 4x4 and shake for 2 hours until you get to Meponda. Then, you take a 40 min boat under the rain to get to the lodge. There's absolutly nothing close to it. I had to sleep with spiders walking around my bed and couldn't eat cause the "restaurant" is a table open air and if I openned my mouth I'm sure some of the thousands bugs would enter. I left the day after. Fui embora no dia seguinte.…
