We’ve just come back from a week at this hotel and it really was excellent! We booked a swim up sea view room. Previous reviews are correct in that they do lose the sun during the afternoon but we had sun until 12.45pm and could then simply move to our reserved beds by the pool. The added luxury of being able to step out of your room and into the pool, along with the bed on our terrace was more than worth it for me. The swim up pool is 1.5m deep with steps leading in and perfect for cooling off. We also felt that the dine around concept was brilliant! It meant that you got out into Protaras (10-15 min walk), and didn’t feel confined to the hotel, and it also meant that there was no opportunity for the food at the buffet restaurant to become repetitive. We tried the Brazilian, the Greek and the Reef Grill restaurants and were impressed with each. Another feature that all hotels could learn from is the system of allocated beds! It makes the holiday all the more relaxing because you are not having to rush in the morning and worry about where you are. I have no idea why all places don’t consider this option! I also loved the swim up pool bar (in particular the frozen cocktails and burgers!), the ice cream in the Patisserie cafe, the amazing clear blue water in the bay in front of the hotel and the general standards of cleanliness throughout. We were made to feel welcome from the start of our visit and in particular during the manager’s champagne cocktail event in which all of the senior members of staff came around and were genuinely interested in how they could continue to improve! Only points for improvement that I have are that the gym should open prior to 9am, particularly because it is unmanned, and also we did not know when the day and evening entertainment would happen and so it would be useful to have a timetable displayed or included in the welcome information - the low key evening singers are perfect for the hotel ambience but we missed some because we did not know which days they were on. We generally always like to go somewhere different when we go away but I would have no hesitation in returning or recommending this hotel to family or friends. It really was exemplary.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with lovely views. You have the peace and quiet of the location yet 5/10 min walk you can have the nightlife of Protaras. The Staff at the hotel make sure your stay is a memorable one. If you go to the coastline in front of the hotel turn left or right again about 10 min walk either way you come to some really nice beaches. The facilities in particular the pools and pool bar great. No rushing down to try get a sun bed as you are allocated one on arrival. With the dining facilities you have the opportunity not only to eat in the hotel But you have some restaurants in the town you can use as part of your package with the hotel and an ala carte restaurant on site. Overall great week. Would go back.

We had an amazing stay at the sunrise jade for the 11 nights that we were there. The hotel room is spacious, always kept clean by the polite maids and the bed is super comfy. We had an inland view and I have uploaded the photos below, we were happy with this view but we were on fourth floor. The first 2 floors are facing a large metal fence with residential houses behind them which I would have been disappointed with. The food is of high standard throughout all the restaurants, including the buffet. The only let down with food was in the reef bar and grill the prawn fajitas were not up to standard with only 6 prawns (photo below). the chicken fajitas which I tried were delicious and so were the ribs in the reef bar. Service is brilliant throughout the hotel, I found during lunch however that the staff seemed less attentive and at one point we were waiting a long time just to get our bill, this was frustrating when we wanted to go and enjoy the sun. Thank you for a great stay we would definitely return!

Having read reviews prior to our booking and since our return this review is based on our actual experience over 14 nights. The Jade is a new hotel opening mid April if I'm correct? So despite part of a chain of Sunrise Hotels they are on a massive learning curve. We witnessed daily simple little tweaks to try and improve on the guests experience. Some worked e.g. (tables on the umbrellas) and some didn't (orange juice dispensers 😉). The staff are a credit to this hotel. Apologies for not remembering everyone but I want to mention Emily in the buffet restaurant, who works so hard to ensure you are happy. Maria (pool bar) who tirelessly walks around asking if you would like a drink from the bar. Yannis the pool guy balancing the sun bed allocation system trying so hard to satisfy all. Aisla the keep fit guru, yoga instructor, aqua aerobics, quiz master and evening greeter, dispite the lack of interest for anything energetic she had the same enthusiasm every single day we were there. Finally Nikos the hotel manager, seemed to be everywhere, very personable, approachable, positive feeling he would have done his utmost to resolve if you had an issue. Some of the negative reviews about this hotel did you actually speak to the hotel manager? The hotel is situated at the quiet end of Protaras, about 10-15 minute walk into the town. The town itself is very busy especially at night, usual bars and restaurants and many hotels. The one-way traffic system makes the road seem very busy at times. There is a costal walk from the hotel, the pathway is unmade for most parts but is a nice walk in either direction if that's your thing? Coastal inlets to the right of the resort some rocky some with sandy beaches, sunbeds etc (very cheap to hire, just a couple of euros). The hotel has a 'dine out' option, we ate at the Reef, Brazilian and Greek restaurants during our stay. The food was amazing, huge portions and if you try the mezze (20+ dishes) don't eat for a few days beforehand 😆). We didn't try the hotels Ginger restaurant but was told by a guest it was really nice with great food. We had a seaview room with a stunning view, sunrise is spectacular!Huge, comfortable bed, ample storage, nice bathroom,tea/coffee making facilities, touch screen for lighting, aircon and room service. The swim up rooms, nice idea but limited sunshine as the sun moves around so not for us as sun worshipers. The other rooms, cannot comment except I would imagine the view is limited as villa's to the rear of the hotel. The pool area operates a sunbed allocation system, yours for the duration and you CAN MOVE if you are not happy! Only criticism would be the hotel needs a way of visually letting the guest know which beds are available, often the beds were unoccupied but allocated, this did cause some resentment on a couple occasions when people were asking to be moved only to be told they were not available. The pools, both nice, large one with swim up pool bar.The other, infinity type pool, which was very popular for a posing photo shoot. Overall loved our stay, met some really great guest and staff. We like to try different locations but if we were to return to Cyprus we would love to come back here. love to come back here.

Just returned from a weeks break at this stunning new hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of champagne each, whilst someone took our bags up and showed us to our room. Room was spacious, clean, very modern, and we were given a small plate of snacks and a complimentary lunch voucher for the last day as we missed our evening meal the first night. Air con was powerful, WiFi was very fast, TV was great as was able to get Netflix and connect your phone if this is what you like. Food (half board) - we had read mixed reviews prior to visiting, however we couldn’t complain. Breakfast was varied with cereal, meat/cheese, pastries, fruit, cooked breakfast, toast and a selection of bread, lots of spreads, mini pancakes etc. Lunch was lovely. Evening meal was great with a wide selection - some nights I struggled as a vegetarian, however the general manager couldn’t have been more helpful as he showed me what there was and even said I could order something else if I didn’t have enough! All staff were welcoming and smiling. However one lunch time I found there were a lot of meat sandwiches therefore I asked for a cheese sandwich and the lady did not have a clue what I was on about and simply said no - thought this was slightly rude as the general manager told me to ask and the staff will do their best to help. We ate at every restaurant except the Brazilian steakhouse. American one you got a three course meal which was really nice. Greek restaurant you also got the same - not much vegetarian however staff were so helpful and let us have a few starters and even brought out some stuffed onions which were delicious. We did not rate the ginger restaurant at all. Sea bass was dry, lamb nothing special, no vegetarian again however they did rustle something up. Nice food and helpful staff but our least favourite. Pool- 3 gorgeous pools including main pool with pool bar, the two staff on there were really friendly. We didn’t use the other but this was an infinity pool which looked nice. Also indoor pool with spa facilities. We were allocated sunbeds on arrival, and at first we were unsure because the only 2 left were on the grass facing the sea. However we found these were 100% the best ones to have, as they had the sun all day whereas others lost the sun around 3-4pm! Also really peaceful facing outwards, and was right next to the pool bar. If you can choose between pool sunbeds and the grass sunbeds, I personally think the grass ones are better. Swim up rooms lost sun really early - probably midday. Overall, we loved our stay and couldn’t of asked for a nicer time, would definitely return and probably get a sea view room next time. Also maybe more evening entertainment would be nice, but this isn’t a must as protaras strip is only 10-15 mins away!
