NCCR is a good budget hotel to stay around Railway Station. The hotel is at around 20 mins of distance from the Railway Station (but that depends on your time of travel as Kanpur is famous for its traffic jams) As mentioned in other reviews as well, the hotel has a banquet/party hall at ground floor with no indication of reception being at first floor. Anyways, this does not matter that much as there is always a security guard at the main entrance. Rooms are nice and clean but a bit small in size. The only window in the room opens to a shaft type area with no source of direct sunlight. Nearby places include the famous Gumti Market and IIT Kanpur. Food : The hotel has no dine-in place and serves food in your rooms only. The food is good in terms of quality, taste and value for money. The only drawback is the presence of nearby railway track. If you are a sound sleeper and don’t mind the sound of running trains during your midnight sleep, give it a try.…

My colleague and I stayed in this hotel for one week in July 2014 and would like to share our experience. The hotel is located on GT road and has decent connectivity and the points that are in favour of this establishment are: 1. 15-30 minute ride from Kanpur Central railway station (depending on the time of the day) 2. Spick and span interiors as it is a fairly new building 3. Neat and clean bed sheets and comforters 4. Courteous staff who knows how to talk to guests 5. Sumptuous breakfast combinations 6. Nice homely food, although very few alternatives Now the points that are against and/or need improvement: 1. The hotel is very close to railway tracks and in spite of near soundproof doors and windows you can hear the trains passing by at odd hours 2. The hotel does not have a restaurant 3. There is a banquet hall at ground floor and could have a lot of nuisance during the marriage season 4. The hotel will/can not provide food bills, not even hand written bills (we were on an official trip and needed the bills badly) 5. The size of bed is not large enough for a tall person like me 6. The AC does not work on DG and in case of a power cut, which is frequent, you will find yourself suffocating in an improperly ventilated room 7. The normal rooms do not have a balcony 8. The rooms are a tad small and in case of double occupancy feels overcrowded 9. Very restricted menu and some of the items are sold way over MRP. I got a 600ml bottle of soft drink for 80 rupees 10. The complimentary water bottles are refilled with what they call "RO water"…
