This was one of the cheapest places we could find along Chaweng Beach. We paid 250 Baht for an 8 person dorm with aircon, lockers, free wifi and free coffee available. There was also a computer, toaster, microwave and fridge all of which we were free to use. It is located just a 2 minute walk from the beach and a 15 minute walk from all the main bars and nightclubs (and ladyboy cabaret show). Even though the area experienced water and power cuts while we were there, the manager was quick to fix the problem. The manager was also extremely helpful in organising us cheap ferry and bus tickets to our next destination. Even though a previous review mentioned that there was no atmosphere or social element, this was not what we found as the common area was a welcoming place to bond and socialise with our fellow dorm mates. Also, the cleaning lady, who was very friendly, was there everyday and even made our beds. Lastly, we were very impressed that we did not have to carry around a key with which to enter the property, instead they were equipped with a finger print identification centre (which made it much easier when coming back from a night out) =)…
It used to be called "Chaweng Beach Backpackers Hostel" - so if you've seen that entry on tripadvisor, it is the same place. Very very basic accommodation, with next to no atmosphere or social element. Large dorm room with bunk beds. A bit out of the way, but still on the main Chaweng Beach. About 5 minute walk to the beach and slightly more for nightlife. It seems clean, but I never saw a cleaner, and the bin was overflowing by the time I left, as it hadn't been emptied during my whole stay. It is by far the cheapest place I could find to stay in Koh Samui, but it may be worth spending slightly more, or avoiding Koh Samui for a cheaper island if you are on a tight budget.
