The Thai wife and I made a spur of the moment decision to check out a supplier in Chiang Mai and decided to make a small start on our journey home before looking for somewhere to stay for the night. We got close to Lamphun and used TA to look for something suitable. This place came up, was close so we drove there to check it out. Looked fine from the outside so the wife called and we got a room for 1,600 baht. Then drove and checked in. Our room was in a bungalow positioned over water. Outside of the room was a balcony and large chair to sit and look at the water and gardens. The medium sized room was all wood interior, well appointment and spotlessly clean. There was a stocked mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Everything worked including the wifi. The television is a little strangely positioned being 90 degrees from the bed. Not a problem for me as the wife checked out the channels which she said were Thai (although I don't know if she scrolled through all channels.) The room was air conditioned. It rained in the night and it was lovely to be able to hear the rain on the roof and hitting the water. We went to the little cafe and had a Thai dinner of three dishes. All were acceptable. The chicken with lemongrass was very tasty however I found the fish cakes to be a little bland. We slept well and strolled the gardens next morning before having breakfast. There was bread/toast with salted butter/jam, yogurt, some cut fruit and a hot meal cooked to order. Drinks included juice and tea/coffee. Nothing fancy but you will not starve. The grounds are very well maintained. There is undercover parking for maybe six cars. Staff were friendly.…
Our one night stay here amongst the fountains and frogs in a modern spotless yet traditional style villa with air con if required, TV, WiFi and a veranda overhanging the water. Only down side is that it is by a road and a railway neither of which disturbed us. Ridiculously affordable at less than £50 with breakfast.
