我真的很讨厌成为“坏消息的传播者”，但是……2019年7月，我和妻子去那里吃了一顿“早午餐”，时间是上午11点……我们点了炸薯条，作为午餐的一部分，可它们显然是“昨天的炸薯条”——看起来像被烧焦了一样，很硬，很多都碎了，就像你在（装薯条的袋子）底部或盘子里看到的那样。这家店为什么要毁了自己的好名声，给我们上昨天的菜呢?或许是店主出门了??

Thank you Rick for taking the time to write a review. Firstly, let me assure you that we fresh cut our fries daily. Unfortunately since they are fresh cut, we are at the mercy of the growing season. While frozen fries are all processed at the peak season making for a consistancy throughout the year, fresh cut fries are subject to the age, size and quality of the potatoes that we can source. All these factors effect the colour, crispness and size of the fries that we cook. Broken pieces are often a result of them sticking to the fry basket when cooking, which should not happen if properly attended, so please accept our apologies for that, While the owners are there every day and we have a trusted staff, mistakes do happen on occasion and I am sorry for that, we do strive to keep a reputation for fresh, quality food.

我们每年都要去看望女儿，因此圣戴夫餐馆是我们周日享用晚餐的地方。这家餐厅已经有些走下坡路了。但我仍然喜欢这家餐馆的食物，食物的种类很多，但食物质量已经不如以前那么好了。我们没有像过去那样得到及时的服务。我知道要保持成为一个社区传奇是一个挑战，希望这家餐馆能回到以前的标准。(红薯条仍是一款美味菜肴!)

Thanks Fran for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that your recent visit was not up to our usual standards. We are working hard to keep up the quality and service that St. Dave's is famous for. Several long term staff members have/are retiring and/or gone on maternity leave and we are adjusting to the changes on our team.

我是戴夫餐厅的老顾客了，但是我注意到现在生意每况日下。这里跟以前不一样了。周末自助餐即使人不多，还得等食物上来，盘子都是空的。食物准备的也不全是新鲜的。侍者也不如从前优秀了。他们中一些脾气十分坏，你问他们今日的特色菜，比如：今天有什么特色三明治吗？他们还会发脾气。你难道不应该知道你们卖什么特色三明治吗？也许他们需要更多服务员...也许他们的服务员需要多休息一下...我也不知道。我变得越来越失望。

So sorry to hear that we have disappointed you on your recent visits. While no execuse for "grouchy" service, several long term staff members have/are retiring and/or gone on maternity leave and we are all adjusting to the changes on our team, as well as having added dinner service. We are working hard to keep up the quality and service that St. Dave's is famous for and judging by the majority of the recent 5 star reviews we seem to be hitting the mark in most cases. Hopefully we will continue to improve and you will find things back to the service and quality standards that you have always enjoyed.

很开心我们来到了这家餐厅。饭菜都很不错。我吃了三明治和米饭布丁。会再回去吃布丁的，非常丝滑美味。份量很大，价格也很合理。服务很友好。

这是一家很棒的家庭餐厅，菜品的份量足且种类多，而且现在也开放供应晚餐啦！餐馆总是很繁忙，这是有原因的！我们每隔几个月就要在这里吃顿饭，从来没让我们失望过！

这里的价格合理，但是这里的培根是加热过的，鸡蛋很油腻，但是土豆饼和吐司都很好吃。桌上有很多调味品。这里的服务很差，服务员根本不在乎我们在不在这里、需要什么服务等。并且还要求我们给小费。

在这吃过早餐，午餐和晚餐。食物分量巨大，做的非常美味。自助早餐储备充足，可满足大家不同的口味。菜单现点食物上菜很快。工作人员很友好，餐厅老板jason是个很搞笑的人。

我们大约有30个人(他们知道我们要来，但不知道我们要点的是什么)约的一个周四的晚上去吃饭，前一群食客刚离开餐厅不久。还有很多常客还在享受他们的晚餐。他们餐厅的人手不足啊!但这不算太大的问题。上菜太慢可以理解，但我们都吃饱了，离开的时候很满意。食物美味，很物有所值。

这儿的早餐很棒。自助没有那么多，选择很好，但是摆盘一般般。烤牛肉可以切一切，而不是只浸在汤里，没什么味道，这个价格我的期待更高一点。我会再来的，但是是为了早餐而不是晚餐自助。

我的妻子和我在林赛的安大略住了好几天，酒店的员工强烈推荐我们来圣戴夫餐厅就餐。服务员很友好，努力工作，餐馆不是很脏，餐馆非常繁忙。我点了加黑面包的咸牛肉，每日例汤点了蛤蜊浓汤。面包非常有嚼劲。泡菜有点老，没有什么味道。蛤蜊浓汤里面有青豌豆、鸡汤和咸肉片，但是看不到一点蛤蜊。我给服务员说了这点，但是他们只是耸耸肩。我猜测这种情况以前发生过，他们没有解决，最后他们也放弃解决这个问题了。很明显，这家餐馆非常受欢迎。但是对我和妻子来说，我们很有可能不会再来这里就餐了。

So sorry to hear that your experience at St. Dave's was not what you had hoped. Our bread comes in fresh daily from a local bakery, while the marble rye is certainly a denser bread and not as light and fluffy, it should not have been chewy. We slice the large kosher dills ourselves and they are very popular (many guests ask for extra pickles) so they don't usually stick around long enough to get old so not sure what to say there.
As for the soup we always include bacon in the clam chowder, the peas, while not traditional, were a creative edition from one of our chefs that spent 4 years cooking at a 5 star resort that always use them in their chowder recipe, perhaps in future we will stick to our more traditional chowder recipe. It certainly should of been full of clams. If ever there are complaints about our soups, it is usually that they are more like stews they are so full or ingredients. I can only assume that whoever dished out the soup did not take enough care in stirring the pot to much sure that the clams had not settled to the bottom. Again I am sorry.
I am most dismayed by your commment that the server simply shrugged her shoulders when told that you we displeased. While complaints are rare, the staff is trained to always do whatever they can to make it right - whether with a replacement item or a refund. I apologize that this was not done in your case, and I thank you for bringing it to our attention so that we can ensure that it does not happen in future.
Hopefully you will choose to return at some point and we can better demonstrate to to why we have many times been voted Lindsay's Favourite Breakfast and Lunch destination.

在一个星期六工作的时候我们决定从St Dave's订外卖。我们打了电话，当我们到达时餐食已经准备好了。食物很好，价格合理。 炸薯条被漏掉了，但有人立即给我们送了过来。很赞的食物和客户服务。
