Hello again, regarding your concerns and accusations...
I apologize that our policy is not to your satisfaction or advantage regarding your "lost GC" however as i already discussed with your husband, we have policies in place to protect the business from fraudulent claims. But as i made very clear at our initial discussing regarding your lost GC, i was NOT accusing you of trying to scam Di Mario's Trattoria but to remain fair and true to our policies we were not able to make an exception to your situation.
We are not here to rip anyone off, we sell gift cards for any amount the client wants and validate them when the original issued gift card is brought in for use, it's very simple with no hidden criteria.
If you loose it or misplace the gift card we can not start reissuing gift cards based off pictures and serial numbers recorded. This is how the business can loose money and individuals that are willing can take advantage. Again i am NOT accusing you of trying to scam our business, but you have no way of protecting the original gift card issued, anybody could pick it up off the street and use it without your knowing or our knowing and then we're on the hook for two issued GC's for the price of one. It's a very simple and straightforward policy to protect the business. I apologize that you are not understanding of the position we are in as a small business. I don't know what businesses you addressed your situation to but i dont believe any business could start reissuing gift cards based off pictures of the original and your "good word" that it is indeed lost with no trace. Most people would question why you would even have a picture of the gift card/serial number in the first place after then misplacing the gift card. However when you mentioned that aspect i did not question, i simply explained a policy we have had in place after many years to protect the business.
But i can understand how it is hard to see our point of view.
