I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. I am looking in to the issues and will be correcting them.

Your feedback is appreciated regarding our wine and pricing. It is our philosophy to put quality in our food and beverage supply; better provenance and sustainability with our food buying and authenticity in our wine and other drink purchases.

Wine prices have risen recently across Europe for "real" wine and duty has increased again as have transport costs. Wine is about only what is in the bottle and what we sell our guests is wine with real fruit and made correctly from its indigenous areas. All wines imported into the UK have a standard £2.80 tax + VAT. A £5.00 bottle of wine at retail will be certainly made from the cheapest juices and then rounded out for added taste by adding chemical fillers such as acidity fillers and artificial fruit enhancers. This is not illegal however it is not avenue that we wish to be a part of.

We did ask quite a lot of our regulars if they would mind paying circa £1 to £1.50 per person for best quality, and resoundingly, all said no, they would not mind.

The market is flooded with cheap wine often fake, out of date or very poor quality, as mentioned above. 2 out of every 5 wines imported into the UK is not what it says on the label, with the authorities unable to do anything, as technically, who makes the wine, they are not breaking any law, just bending it to the maximum.

Ironically, Britain’s bestselling wine is bottled in Huddersfield, whilst cheap to buy, expensive compared to good wine.

A lot of restaurants sell wine as a commodity knowing nothing about it or caring about the industry. This dangerous road that we will not go down, however we do understand a lot of guests are price sensitive thus we have wine at £17.50 per bottle. It is made with a lot of fruit and having a long finish; not an alcoholic buzz only.

Price increases are a fact of life and we do raise them on some sectors once a year, normally July. We do not take advantage of any of our regulars or visitors as that is how our 44 year reputation was made and would never take advantage of our guests.

Thank you for your review. We take great pride in our food. All cheese's, salami's, olives and tomatoes for our sauces are imported from hand chosen suppliers in Italy. All produce is delivered fresh daily and we even create all of the dough for our pizza's in house daily. We have a wonderful gluten free range of pasta dishes and all pizzas can be made gluten free as well.

We trust you will be back as we are open late during the festival, serving food until 11:00 pm weekdays and until 12:00 midnight on weekends. We are the perfect location for before and after the festival entertainment. Ice cream and coffee post tattoo or concerts.
