We are very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to express our sincere apologies.
Our Hotel MONOPOL Lucerne was built in 1899 and it is a historical building under monumental protection. We are therefore not allowed to provide air conditioning in all the rooms. It is also nowhere mentioned that our Standard rooms are equipped with a/c. If you would like to stay in a room with air conditioning, we would recommend you to book one of our new renovated Deluxe-Design Junior Suites.
We have a very nice location directly next to the train station (no taxi), in the middle of the center of Lucerne, close to the lake, famous Chapel Bridge, old town and at the most interesting places of Lucerne. Due to this location we unfortunately cannot avoid that there is some noise coming from the street or from the bars around the hotel. We are proud that we can offer our guests such a big variety of restaurants, bars and coffee shops in close proximity of the hotel which is also much appreciated.
We are sorry that you did have some problems with the water temperature in the room. It is our first priority to ensure that all our guests can enjoy a memorable stay in our Hotel. Therefore we would like to thank you for your feedback. Only this gives us the chance to improve our service constantly and repair defects like the one you had in the shower. There was already a technician in our hotel and fortunately he could solve the problem now.
It is sad that you did not inform us earlier than one day prior to departure that you were not happy with the room. As we also do have more quiet rooms facing the courtyard or other rooms with lakeview, we are sure we could have found a solution.
Once again, we are very sorry that we could not meet your expectations and therefore offer our sincere apologies. Nevertheless, we hope to have another chance in the future in order to convince you of our improvements.

Our Housekeeping manager checks every room before our guests check in. During your stay the room has been cleaned every day. This includes cleaning of the bathroom as well as making the bed and clearing the garbage. Of course this also includes washing the cups and refilling the shower gel. We already trained our employee accordingly to make sure that this will not happen again.
It is a pity that you did not inform us during your stay. Our reception is occupied 24 hours, so please just let us know next time if you have a problem with the room to give us the opportunity to solve the problems directly.
