Firstly, as always we appreciate people taking the time to review and yourself for saying complimentary things about the venue.
Of course first and foremost our aim is to be friendly and make everybody feel welcome.
It is certainly an approach that I try and adopt all of the time. You suggested that I was hovering and glancing at my watch.
Of course another way to look at that situation is that I looked at my watch, because I wished to know the time, which quite possibly had nothing to do with your situation and as for the hovering, I actually don’t know what that means. I run the venue so I do tend to walk around a lot.
For arguments sake, if you had booked for a number of people and only a small proportion of those people had turned up I believe I or any owner/manager would be well within their rights to ask the question “are your guests arriving”
Again to clarify, we always attempt to give people space based on numbers that are attending.
The only way I would approach the customer and ask the question would be if the venue was filling up and the host did not have the number they first suggested.
If the answer from you would have been, yes, my guests are still arriving, and then I would have left the situation alone.
I apologise if you felt uncomfortable and I am sorry you did not get the numbers you anticipated.
As I stated, we go above and beyond to make everybody happy. That’s what the venue is built on and that’s something that will never change.
