When you're waterfront on a beautiful beach, we reckon you should keep it simple.

Thank you for your critique. Although we love your colourful turn of phrase with a Stateside spelling: “submerged in false pretenses”, we can’t agree with the sentiment.
Yes, the bathrooms are on the small side, and there are no views to speak of in the standard rooms. But we state this clearly on our website, no pretences here.
And all room photographs have no added touches and are clearly captioned for room type. They are exactly as they are. No pretences.
As to the windows, we are working on that.
Although fire regulations don’t allow the windows to open any wider, we are substituting the milk glass with clear glass to make the rooms more open.
What’s more, while it’s generally quiet inside the hotel, Coogee is a beach resort and outside noise can sometimes be beyond our control.
As to your welcome, we apologise that it wasn’t up to scratch. This is very unusual as you can see from most other reviews that that give us top marks for our hospitality.
“A home away from home” is a constant comment. “Unpretentious” has surfaced more than once.
