尽管其他评论没有这么说,但是这里没有西贡最好吃的越南法式面包(对于这你必须得去别的地方看一看)。这些都是很好的美国/西方风格的肉和沙拉卷,又名三明治/ po'boys(或者无论你怎么称呼他们)。菜单范围很广泛。我在这里吃过很多次,从来没有失望过,但是这里并没有地道的越南法式面包风味或者体验。如果你在找一家不错的西方风格的三明治,这里就是你的选择了。如果你是在找最好吃的地道的越南风味的越南法式面包,这家并不符合你的要求。

Thank you for your review. With regard to Banh Mi authenticity, we appreciate that many are not familiar with the fact that the Banh Mi was introduced to Saigon by the French in the 19th Century. The French and Vietnamese Culinary masters of the day basically constructed their sandwich with high quality roasted meats on a French baguette. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi version of their French sandwich was differentiated by the garnishing that used local greens such as cilantro, spring onion, mild chili and cucumber as opposed to their French sandwich that was constructed with a traditional lettuce and tomato.
As a result of the quality roasted meats and ingredients used, the Banh Mi was an expensive quality sandwich that was primarily only affordable to the affluent. As edification, the term “Banh Mi” in Vietnamese simply means bread and is commonly referred to a sandwich, any sandwich. The term Banh Mi does not require specific ingredients, as such, one can call a peanut butter and jelly sandwich a Banh Mi and be totally accurate. The term Banh MI is not like “Hot Dog” that requires a sausage or “Hamburger” that requires a ground beef patty; the term Banh Mi can be anything that one wants to construct using bread.
Basically, as a result of the status symbol the Banh Mi carried and there being no requirement in the construction or ingredients, street vendors used the name but lowered the quality of the roll they used and the mystery meats fillings that they augmented with pickles to add flavor to the sandwich and to mask the unwanted flavors of the lower quality questionable ingredients.
History documents this past and logically and being unbiased, could you imagine that a French Chef would add pickles to steak, chicken or pork sandwich to provide flavor?
Our Banh Mis are totally authentic and a rarity compared to the many sidewalk vendors that have permeated the streets and creating a distorted benchmark of the Banh Mi. Basically, this is as if a fast food hamburger or pizza chain became the benchmark for an authentic and quality hamburger or pizza. Unfortunately, many have mistaken the Banh Mi to be a pickle oriented sandwich.
We trust that our explanation of Banh Mi history allows you to better understand what an authentic Banh Mi should look and taste like.

我与一群朋友在早上来这里光顾。点菜很快,但是要等很久才能上菜。当我们询问原因时,工作人员说他们需要时间使食物变热和变脆。过了一会,我们再去问,他们用不怎么友好的态度回答我们。无论如何,Banh Mi餐馆味道不错,但有点贵。

Thank you for your review and you are absolutely correct our Banh Mis do take a little longer to prepare than one purchased from a “Fast Food Street Cart.” The reason for the time required is that each and every Banh mi we serve is individually made to order. Our taking a little longer is the only way we know how to guarantee the authenticity in taste and texture in the food we serve.
You will have noticed, that our Banh Mis are filled with quality meats that we slow oven roast to lock in the flavor, moistness and tenderness. Also, as our meal preparation is overseen by our kitchen staff that specializes in authentic Vietnamese home cooking, we do not rush the cooking process. As such, our style of authentic Vietnamese home cooking does take a few minutes longer but our loyal customers demand the authenticity in flavor and tastes that we have become known for. We are not fast food and our patrons seeking authentic great tasting Vietnamese food prefer the individual cook-to-order preference.
Regarding our wait staff, please understand that English is a totally new language to most of them and their language fluency is not yet all encompassing. As such, if in fact your wait person seemed indifferent to your question. it probably was the result of not being able to fully understand what was expressed.
We trust you now understand why we are unable to rush quality and we thank you very much for your review.

我们正在我们酒店附近寻找正宗的 banh mi,我们偶然在猫鹰途用google搜索它,然后就找到了。我们非常开心也很满意它的味道。在HCM非常值得一试。我丈夫惊呆了当他发现一个正朝里面讲话的男人是一个著名的国际主厨并且还是这个餐馆的主人(尽管他是个粉丝)总的来说,这是个非常不错的经历。

食物还可以且餐厅干净,餐厅装潢很西方缺乏越南特色。相似的食物价钱有点高,感觉是观光客去的店,用餐时都没看到当地人。

Thank you for your review and comments of our ambience and air-conditioned dining area as clean. Your comment on a limited menu is accurate as we only prepare authentic Vietnamese home cooked food that we are known for as doing extremely well.
Regarding our tourist patronage: If you dined with us in the past few days you will note that it is the beginning of summer and there are many tourists. Had you dined with us at noon you would have noted we are frequented primarily by loyal local diners during their lunch break. Local people who are working in offices are not able to dine at the same hour when you may have visited us.
Thank you for your review and should you seek an authentic Banh Mi, Lemongrass chicken, Bo Kho and Bun Thit Nuong (to mention a few of our Vietnamese specialty home cooked dishes) that we specialize in, please come by.
What I do not understand is that you are Chinese and specialty limited menu dining is very Chinese. Is it not the case that a restaurant becomes famous for only one thing? Char Siu, roasted suckling pig, roast goose or even just the 1,000 year old eggs as with Yung Kee in Hong Kong ? I know this single item focus is practiced and repeated in food items as simple as congee.
Whatever the case, we appreciate your dining with us and trying a few of the specialties we do well.

My Banh Mi(本餐馆)所提供的菜品真是棒极了,菜品均是用新鲜的原料制作而且所有菜品都非常美味。猪肉Banh Mi这道菜搭配着奶油色的罗勒叶酱汁真是超级好吃-这样,我就能够理解这为什么会比其他的Banh Mi系列的菜色要出名得多。我通常是不吃那么多蔬菜的,但是这儿的蟹爪沙拉却是我所品尝过的最好吃的(沙拉)之一-甚至好吃到我想要得到制作这份沙拉的菜谱,那么当我回家的时候,就能够自己尝试复制这道沙拉!作为一名炖牛肉的超级粉丝,Bo Kho这道菜真是做得非常的柔嫩可口和多汁,而且绝对是餐馆中的顶级菜品。而Bun Thit Nuong(鸡肉搭配白米粉)很美味。还有现成的Sapporo啤酒非常冰爽,完美地搭配这些菜品!我肯定还会再来这家餐馆,品尝更多不同的菜品的。
