It took me a while to understand your review given that it is written in Chinese and that the translation offered is not very helpful, but thanks to a past customer from Hong Kong who translated it in English for us, I now understand more clearly what this is all about.
I honestly do not have any recollection of having spoken to you, even after having seen a photo of you on Trip Advisor, so my guess is that our conversation was rather on the short side.
First of all it is quite clear that this review is based on a misunderstanding, due to the fact that you do not speak good English (this was confirmed to me by the owner of the agency that organised the Santa Cruz trek for you in the end, as well as the guide who accompanied you on the trek - I went to the agency in question and spoke to both personally).
You claim that I told you that we couldn't organise neither the Lake 69 day trip, nor the Santa Cruz trek for you, however this is completely impossible as there are daily departures for Lake 69 and it is never full, except during Easter week and the national holiday when it can happen, but this was not the case. So there is no way I would have told you that it wasn't possible for you to book Lake 69 with us, therefore I believe you misunderstood me.
As for the Santa Cruz trek, for the date that you planned to start the trek (the 26th as I found out with the other agency) we indeed did not have any availability, as our staff was busy until August 28th, so it would not have been possible for us to organise the Santa Cruz trek for you whether we had the minimum number of 5 persons required to form a group or not. Obviously you did not understand that.
And for your information the day that you came into my office (which I believe must have been on August 24th) I was suffering from severe bronchitis and was extremely unwell (I was so for a whole two weeks), so that may explain why I may not have been my usual friendly, perky self, I really apologise for that.
But honestly what truly bothers me about the nasty review you wrote is your racist comment at the end of it, which really comes as a surprise since you know absolutely nothing about me. Why make such a nasty, personal, racist attack? The only explanation I can think of, is that you are either a racist person, or you talked to someone else who made these nasty remarks about me, because I honestly cannot believe you came up with it during the very short conversation we had. You attack me for being a European (with an American accent, but btw I have a British accent as I lived in London for 15 years), who supposedly works in Peru abusing the resources in Huaraz and making money from foreign tourists, and your opinion is that this is shameful. How on earth you came up with that really astounds me, it really sounds like something one of my competitors would say in an attempt to ruin my reputation, hardly something a passing tourist would come up with. So maybe in future you should be more careful about judging people when you clearly know nothing about them or their circumstances, and do not take everything you hear as the truth. Because for your information I have lived in Huaraz for 6 years now, I have now obtained the Peruvian nationality, and I consider myself being a very good addition to the Huaraz population as I contribute to making the tourist industry a much better one.
Once again someone has used Trip Advisor in the wrong way attempting to damage a business reputation based on a misunderstanding and misconceptions. I have to say I am getting very tired of all this, because at Quechuandes we go out of our way to provide a quality service to our customers, and then we can have all our hard work ruined by some nasty unfounded reviews. I have had a very tough year, having suffered from agonising sciatica pain for months and a nasty bronchitis for 2 weeks, during that time I have had customers being rude and even shouting at me, telling me I should clearly not be working and should go home to rest. Well unfortunately we work 7 days a week and when we have to organise treks or expeditions and have to be at our office to receive our customers who have made advanced bookings we simply do not have the luxury of staying at home and recovering from our illness. So it would be very nice if people could be a bit more sympathetic to us once in a while, we are not robots who are programmed to act in a certain way the whole time, we are merely humans.
Hope not too late to write the review.
Thank you all.
