I am finding it hard to respond adequately to you, as I feel you are being a little harsh with your words. As you can imagine, a renovation at any hotel, not just ours, doesn't happen overnight. We have three floors in the hotel, and to minimise the impact on guest experience (with regard to noise and dust), we undertook to renovate the hotel one floor at a time. Our Ground Floor was renovated between January and May 2017, our Top Floor was renovated between May and August 2017, and our Middle Floor will be renovated between May and August 2018. In the mean time (between August 2017 and May 2018) we are tackling various other tasks throughout the hotel, such as renovating our public bathrooms, replacing carpets and refurbishing other rooms not located on the three floors within the hotel. We are also finishing building our new Laundry Room, which is located at the back of the property.
As you can imagine, we are a very old hotel in a very old building, and as such we always have projects, renovations and upgrades on the go. There will therefore always be something that someone doesn't like, but we always strive to have guests leave feeling like they were well looked after while they stayed with us. I apologise if you did not get to experience this.
Please may I ask you to elaborate on your comment regarding our breakfast. We receive wonderful reviews on this, and as this is something we are quite well known for, we would appreciate feedback as to what you recommend we can improve or change.
I am delighted to hear that you found our staff, as well as the rest of the staff you came in contact with at your accommodations in South Africa, to be so friendly and helpful.
