On Behalf of the entire team of the Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Airport I want to personally apologize for the disturbance early Saturday morning due to the fire alarm sounding.
We take the safety of our guests seriously our alarm systems detects smoke and heat and any of those or combination can sound an alarm. Unfortunately a fellow guest bunt popcorn in the lobby microwave tripping the full building alarm system. Thankfully no fire existed and we were able to clear the smoke out with no incident. I apologize if this was not communicated to you that evening.
