We are so sorry you experienced problems with your credit card. When a credit card is used to guarantee a reservation for another person, it is authorized since you agree to guarantee payment for that reservation.
When the other guest checks in, we get their credit card for payment, and authorize that to pay their own reservation, but the authorization is also on your credit card (not a charge). When reviewing your online credit card or debit card activity online, your bank does not differentiate the difference between an authorization or payment. The timing of how long an authorization remains on your account is up to your banks policy. It is only released when a corresponding charge is posted against that authorization. I believe you are talking about an authorization that you gave us to guarantee payment for a guest (that we used until that guest arrived and gave us their credit card for payment). Please check with your bank to question when they will release the pending authorization. Unfortunately, we cannot speak to your bank on your behalf.
So sorry for this difficulty you experienced. Hopefully this explanation better explains why it appeared that you had been charged incorrectly.
