Dear MKV Guest and all travelers,
We certainly apologize on behalf of all staff and owners of this legacy property. Having been in business for over 50 years, one does not attain or keep high guest ratings by taking things from others. And although we were not able to find, solve or replace a material item, I can assure you we reviewed, interviewed, and took the claim of a missing watch very seriously. A couple of notes: one - in all the years I have lived and worked in the Hawaiian Islands, I have learned the local hardworking and dedicated service staff is not interested in fancy watches. The job itself with medical benefits and wages to provide for their families is the priority. And second, there is a reason chapter 486K exists to protect the rights and liabilities of both the hotel keeper and guests. If you are traveling, use the safe provided in each guest room or even better do not bring expensive jewelry and other on vacation.
Thank you Hal
